New company "Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan" Started Operation

Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan Ltd. (DTAT) has started a wholesale operation as of 3 January, 2017.  DTAT was established in Taipei, Taiwan in August 2016, as a joint venture between Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) - one of Asia's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, and Shung Ye Trading Co., (SYC), a leading player in the Taiwanese commercial vehicles market.  The joint venture, in which MFTBC holds a 51 percent stake and SYC 49 percent, will further enhance FUSO’s business in the Taiwanese market through a newly formed business setup including import, assembly, wholesales, and retail.

Kristin Chun-Chi Lin, Chairwoman of SYC/DTAT said: “The start of DTAT operation marks a new page of our FUSO business in Taiwan. By working closely with MFTBC, we will expand our product line and provide more comprehensive service to our customers in Taiwan.”

FUSO products have been sold in Taiwan through SYC since 1958.  FUSO is the number one brand in the Taiwanese commercial vehicle market. DTAT continues to leverage on current network.  The retail sales business for FUSO vehicles in Taiwan continues to be operated by Yue Yu Motors Corporation (YYC) through its extensive network of sales and service outlets.
